Join our team as a part-time Pennie Enrollment Specialist (Health Insurance Assister) – where you’ll guide community members in Cambria and Somerset counties through the Pennsylvania health insurance marketplace (Pennie) and help them make informed enrollment decisions.

Job duties to include:

  • Assist individuals and families with Pennie applications, eligibility determinations, and plan selections.
  • Provide enrollment support, ensuring clients understand benefits, costs, and coverage options.
  • Host and staff enrollment events, health fairs, and community sessions.
  • Build relationships with local organizations to expand outreach and streamline referral pipelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to demonstrate enrollment outcomes.

As a Pennie Enrollment Specialist, your expertise helps families secure coverage that protects them from medical financial hardship. Every enrollment is a meaningful step toward healthier communities.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience with health plan enrollment and/or background in social work, public health, or healthcare-related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Skills Abilities:

  • Understanding of health insurance concepts (premiums, deductibles, subsidies, provider networks).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willing to work periodic evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Cambria and Somerset counties.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and populations.
  • Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours a week, wage commensurate with experience.
  • One-year grant funded, temporary position with the potential for extended employment.
