Center for Population Health (CPH) is committed to providing continued advocacy through coordination/participation in local, regional or state-wide public health meetings, identifying systems-level opportunities for improvements, and meeting with legislators to discuss the needs of our communities.

CPH advocates for the residents in the two-county region by coordinating or participating on many committees working to meet the needs of the residents.   Examples of groups working to address these needs include Health and Welfare Councils, Early Childhood Initiative, Housing Coalition, Suicide Prevention Task Force, Local Foods Local Places and many more.

Raising awareness about the critical role of the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce in improving health and wellness is vital, which is why CPH is also a proud member of the Pennsylvania Community Health Worker Collaborative (PACHW). PACHW is a group of CHWs and allies that advocates for sustainable financing approaches that support the long-term employment of CHWs in Pennsylvania.

Each August, CPH coordinates an Annual Health and Human Services Summit for Cambria and Somerset counties.  This is an opportunity to bring together representatives from a variety of community-based organizations to discuss the collective work underway to address the health and human service needs identified through the Community Health Needs Assessment process.
